The Role of Quality Management in Schools

Implementation of quality management systems in educational institutions has gradually increased over the last few decades.

Through effective quality management, education processes have improved, the productivity of teachers enhanced, teachers and students find greater joy in the educational system which makes students more likely to make positive contributions to their society.

School management courses in India provide a systematic program that indicates everyone and everything in the organizations is involved in the enterprise of continuous improvement.

Quality management systems have a positive impact on aspects such as the development of coexistence rules in schools, teacher participation in initiatives to improve schools and a positive climate in schools.

What Quality Management includes:

Quality Management process of a school includes strategic planning, recruiting and staff development, deploying resources, and alignment of what is taught, how it is taught, and how it is assessed. Administrators need to involve students in their own education by training them to evaluate the learning process and accept responsibility for their learning. 

Quality management is an integral part of management, whose role is to reach quality objectives, which are reflected in providing and improving educational quality. This is achieved by managing the activities derived from the established quality policies and plans and is carried out within the quality system implementing the appropriate quality monitoring plan.

The introduction of quality management requires a number of changes in educational institutions. They are as follows:

  • Changes in the attitudes and activities of the management in the organization and monitoring of the educational process as a whole.
  • Quality management aims to harmonize the efforts of leaders trained with an educational leadership certification in such a way that not only do educators approach their assigned tasks with enthusiasm, but they also participate in the improvement of how the work gets done.

Current trends of school management:

Current methods of management education encourage people to enter management positions through educational leadership certification in India to cope with the problems that arise when systems and procedures are simply inadequate to the reality of the marketplace.

Leadership provides people with opportunities for personal growth and development. People are able to take joy and pride through learning and accomplishment, and the capability of the enterprise to succeed is enhanced. Global educators are active contributors, valued for their creativity and intelligence.

Quality management for school managers:

Managers manage interdependent systems and processes and exercise managerial leadership carrying out their roles as mentors, facilitators, innovators and more.

The majority of challenges are prevented and improvement is promoted when people understand where they fit in and have the knowledge to maximize the contribution to the whole.

Only an adequate quality management system with proper implementation can create the environment that nurtures a team oriented culture that can facilitate continuous improvement and development of the educational organization.
